All pension benefits provided to Government servants who retire on attaining the age of retirement shall be paid to voluntary retirees.

Will the Minister of PERSONNEL, PUBLIC GRIEVANCES AND PENSIONS be pleased to state:-
(a) the details of employees given VRS from Government jobs/PSUs during the last ten years, year and State/UT-wise;
(b) whether the Government has taken appropriate measures to ensure the welfare of such employees;
(c) if so, the details thereof;
(d) if not, the reasons therefor; and
(e) the details of proposed measures to be taken in this regard to ensure welfare of employees given VRS from Government jobs?

(a): The Government employees can opt for voluntary retirement after completion of prescribed period of qualifying service under their respective applicable Rules viz. Central Civil Services (Pension) Rules, 2021, All India Services (Death Cum Retirement Benefits) Rules, 1958 etc. All such employees who intend to take voluntary retirement apply to their respective Cadre Controlling Authorities and the data of such employees is not centrally maintained by the Department of Personnel & Training.
(b) to (e): It is the personal decision of the officers to take voluntary retirement after completion of prescribed period of qualifying service. The employees who take voluntary retirement are given all retirement benefits which are admissible to Government employees retiring after attaining the age of superannuation.
