7th Pay Commission may double salary
The Seventh Pay Commission report, after being submitted to the government will be examined by the Senior Committee of Secretaries, which will take two months. Then it will be submitted to the Ministry of Finance, which will give the clearance to implement it from next year January 1, 2016, the 2.86 fold increase of the unchanged current salary will add an additional financial burden of 1 lakh 28 thousand crore to the Government. However, the organization of central government staff officers have given a warning to the government that if they make more cuts over the Central-Pay-Commission (CPC) report they can take a step of going on a strike.
The Seventh Pay Commission is expected to double the salaries of government employees. The Commission’s report is to be submitted to the central government in the second week of September. Out of the 55 Lakh Central Government Employees, 1 lakh are employed in Madhya Pradesh. The new pay scale will be implemented from January 1, 2016. According to sources, Grade Pay is being eliminated in the Seventh Pay Commission, where in place 15 new scales are being introduced. These scales will include Salaries on which Dearness Allowance will be applicable.
Accordingly other allowances, House Rent Allowance and Transportation allowance will be provided. The currently implied sixth pay commission pay scale employees retirement at 33 years of service formula is applied. After this, on retirement, the employees are to be paid sixteen and a half months of their salary as gratuity. After this service, the employee is entitled to a full pension. This proposal has also been extended to the Seventh Pay Commission. CPC report is yet to be submitted to the government, after which it will be considered by the senior committee of secretaries. Then it will be finalized. Whatever the discrepancies, it will be discussed – KKN Kutty, Chairman, Confederation of Central Staff.

Note: Currently, officers and employees are receiving 113 percent DA, HRA and Transport Allowance over their Basic Pay, Grade Pay. Also 6 percent DA of July is outstanding.
