ANSWER: MINISTER OF STATE FOR SOCIAL JUSTICE AND EMPOWERMENT (SHRI KRISHAN PAL GURJAR)
(a): Yes Sir. The 10 per cent reservation to Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) has been implemented by the Government for persons who are not covered under the scheme of reservation for SCs, STs and OBCs.
(b): Yes Sir. Candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) are granted a relaxation of 5 years and those belonging to the Other Backward Classes (OBC) are granted a relaxation of 3 years in the maximum age limit prescribed for direct recruitment to Central Government jobs. Relaxation in the number of attempts available to SCs, STs and OBCs varies for different examinations conducted by the various recruitment agencies.
(c)to (e): No Sir. The rules framed by the Government regarding reservation to EWS do not provide for Age Relaxation or Relaxation in number of attempts to the candidates at present and no such proposal is under consideration.
